Why Did You Want to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Parmar always loved painting as a child, and she excelled at it because of her meticulous nature. She believes she inherited this quality from her father, who worked as an engineer and was an accomplished artist in his free time. While in high school, math and science piqued Dr. Parmer’s interest, and upon graduation, she realized that dentistry would allow her to combine all of her passions into one fulfilling career.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Parmar earned her first dental degree in her native India, where she obtained a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from MP Dental College. After starting and running her own successful practice for a few years, she eventually made her way to the United States. Here, she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. Since then, she has continued to advance her skills through continuing education, taking courses focused on dental implants, Invisalign, and laser dentistry. She is also a member of both the American Dental Association and Texas Dental Association.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Parmar and her husband Kuldeep have been married for over 10 years. He works as a physical therapist that specializes in orthopedics and joint replacement at Baylor, Scott, & White Rehabilitation. They have two daughters named Aadhya and Ameya. Together, they primarily like to spend their time outdoors, both hiking and biking. Her other hobbies include traveling to learn about different cultures, making healthier versions of traditional Indian delicacies, and painting with watercolors.
