Why Did You Want to Become a Dentist?

Growing up as a child, Dr. Parmar loved painting. She’d been blessed with artistic skills and a meticulous nature from her father, who was a successful engineer and an accomplished artist. Then, during high school, she also developed a keen interest in science and mathematics. After graduation, she realized that dentistry was the perfect way to combine artistry and science! The job would allow her to create happy, healthy smiles for patients in need while also improving their lives in fulfilling ways. All these years later, she’s never looked back.

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

Dr. Parmar’s educational journey started in India, where she completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from MP Dental College. She then started her own dental office and ran it successfully for several years before deciding to move to the United States. Here, she attended the Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry, earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery. She’s also advanced her skills through further training in dental implants, Invisalign, and laser dentistry. By attending dental school and practicing in both India and the US, she feels like she’s experienced the best of both worlds! Today, she is a current member of both the American Dental Association and the Texas Dental Association.
